We are able to take over protest hearings for properties that have not been filed by Republic Property Tax. We require that the formal protest hearing is scheduled for at least 2 weeks after you register with us. There is an upfront fee of $50 for Republic Property Tax to take over the formal hearing.
The deadline to file a protest for your property tax assessment in Texas is May 15th or 30 days after notice of your assessed value is mailed to you, whatever is later. If the deadline falls on a weekend or holiday, the deadline is the next business day.
You should protest your property value annually because the county appraisal district reassesses the value of the property on January 1st of each tax year. This means the county can increase the value of your property each year. If you protest every year, it can prevent the property value from drastically increasing from year to year.
Yes. Once you register with us, we will protest on your behalf each year until services are cancelled by either party.
Cancellations must be by written notice sixty (60) days prior to the following year’s protest deadline. If you would like to cancel, please email us at Info@republicpropertytax.com stating you would like to cancel, the property address, and registered client’s name. We will respond confirming that services are cancelled.
